As I created the page, I felt like I was going into the world of the Gauls (Asterix, Obelix etc) where one bunch of Wrimos were holding out against the great Romance (Romans?) of laziness and lack of motivation to write. These were the guys who had drunk the magic potion, conjured up by self-driven Druids. Of course, some of them fell into cauldrons as a baby and did not really need to drink the potion each time…
Lets hear you, the Gauls (and Gods and Goddesses) of Wrimo India – the other side of you, the cool, geeky, freaky, meeky sides of the dice (alea iacta est?)
This page is for everyone to introduce themselves to others. So get your voice out!!
Looks like I’m the first! My name is Sumira Khan and I’m a mother of two cherubic brats who think keeping their mom away from her laptop is the funnest thing ever. I’m juggling my efforts at being a passably good mother, a trying-not-to-nag wife, my domestic chores, a freelance writing career and my long held dreams of becoming a novelist. This was my first Nano and boy, did I love it. I’m hooked now and already waiting for next year. NaNoWriMo 2011 taught me that anything is achievable. You just need to want it enough. And I won! What an incredible feeling. I’m now planning on putting my all into this novel that I’m more than half way through and making it into something publishable. A big thank you to all the people I interacted with through this event. Each of you, in your own way, was an encouragement for me and that support saw me through the month. Cheers to all of us!
Hi,
I am sreeja, mother of two. sumirak you have written my experience as a mother so no more words there. Nanowrimo was a big surprise for me, I love writing and reading but should admit that I am a bit lazy. So if I have written the novel with more than 50000 words in it, the credit goes to nanowrimo. I found this CCC community link too from here and that too is soo superb. With this rough draft of a novel I am bit confused about how to make it into a finished one, the story line is something from real life so I love it. should think seriously and will need some help from somebody experienced. It was fun to have those wrimo friends there on the forums, will surely miss them. A little bit painting and musings made a blog out of it, would really like if my wrimo friends put a comment there. A humble try. It is’ Imagination-dharithri.blodspot.com’
Thanks.
Hello Wrimos,
Well I enjoyed NaNoWriMo this year, for some personal constraints and certain episodes in life, I was unable to write much in the last four years, I also had a lot of self doubt on whether I could write or would anybody like to read what I write. My language skills, my vocabulary left a lot to be desired. Then I came across NaNoWriMo and thought I will give it a try and in doing so rediscovered my love for writing. I used to write not for anyone else but for myself, I was my audience then and I am my audience now. I feel happy when I write. My wife has been really supportive of me and it is because of her that I write and I promise to her and myself that I would continue to write forever.
In this journey of mine, you all have played a part and I thank you all for being there for me through this special journey. I will be here if you need me.
You can catch some of my writing, some projects in the works, some other things that might interest you on mysite – http://www.thoughtsunbound.com

Hi! Its Piorre Hart from India.
I loved my Nanowrimo experience this year and though it was my first and I had quite a few hiccups during the course of the earlier part of the month, I managed a purple ribbon! It was one of the most satisfying experiences and exciting at the same time!
I felt so connected to the other wrimos and it was a pleasure to know that people who love to write and would do anything to write do exist and exist in good numbers! Because in our own immediate surroundings or community or even friend circles, we are probably the odd ones out: who find pleasure and often leisure in writing… it is beyond the comprehension of many around us as to what compels us to write …why this irresistible urge… why this insatiable thirst…why this love for the pen? And yet, here we are: all of us who feel exactly the same way (in this matter at least)!
Cheers to a great friendship in the future!
Piorre Hart
(That’s my pen-name: My profession is such that if I write under my actual name, no one is gonna take me seriously at my workplace!)
Had mistakenly posted this introduction on the ‘new day…’ page yesterday
hi, i am a proud winner of Nanowrimo. I realised what potential I have , I mean I could also write. Really a great feeling. want to continue. looking forward to next session. kudos to Karthik Narayan and superbly Sonia Rao. you two were good. My son’s name is Karthik too. Thanks to Lindsay grant who tried to validate the writeups even after Nov 30. Thank you everyone. Your service to Literature is outstanding. Hv some progms for school kids too.
hey I just sent a comment to you with the name Mrs.R.Meenakumari. Please introduce me as meenaravi only as it is my username also for nanowrimo.
Hi!
Maybe I don’t qualify to be writing about WriMo, I joined but I never completed. I have many reasons that I can qoute. Shifting to a new city without a job and with a lot of expectations does that to you I guess. Well its nice to see People around thinking and working hard to fulfill the passion of writing that we all share.
All the best and loets have a great time in future.

Nanowrimo opened up this fun forum where I got to be with people with similar interests. and I’m glad that I actually sat and did this awesome thing (with a bunch of people who were also working on their own awesome things.) that I really truly enjoyed.
